Abstract
In April 2025, small, abundant ants were detected in a home in Tres Cantos (Madrid). The authors identified them as Brachymyrmex patagonicus, marking the first record for the central Iberian Peninsula and Madrid. A web search revealed new records for the provinces of Almería, Granada, and Málaga, where they were already known, thus updating the Iberian map for the species.
