Authors instructions

Iberomyrmex publishes scientific and outreach articles on every aspect of myrmecology, with particular attention to the Iberian Peninsula. These are the general conditions for publication; detailed guidelines and templates are requested from the editorial team.

Sections

The bulletin has three sections. Authors state which one their contribution belongs to, and the editorial team confirms it based on its content and relevance.

  • Scientific. Ecology, taxonomy, evolution, behaviour, morphology and any other aspect of myrmecology.
  • Outreach. Natural history, profiles of myrmecologists, methodology, events, ant keeping and naturalist studies.
  • Taxomara. Content from the AIM myrmecology congress.

Language

Contributions may be written in Spanish or English. Scientific articles are preferably submitted in English or in a bilingual format.

Publication

The bulletin is annual. For Scientific articles, authors do not wait for the issue to close: each one is published as soon as it is accepted and edited, as a downloadable pre-print PDF with its own DOI and no page numbers yet. Once a year they are compiled into the complete volume, with final pagination and layout.

Contributions to Outreach and Taxomara are published directly when the full annual volume is compiled with final pagination and layout.

Access and rights

This is an open access publication, free of charge for readers, under a Creative Commons 4.0 licence. Authors retain their copyright.

Articles in the scientific section are deposited in the DIGITAL.CSIC repository through the "Green Diamond" service, which provides a stable publishing infrastructure. Each article is assigned an ORCID so that it can be unambiguously attributed to its authors.

Review

Submissions undergo peer review. Open peer review is also available on a voluntary basis, through the open peer review module of the "Green Diamond" service (http://hdl.handle.net/10261/361230).

How to submit

Contributions must be written using the journal's official template: there is one for the scientific section and another for the outreach section. Write to iberomyrmex@mirmiberica.org to request the appropriate template and the full publication guidelines.
